The Maleficent star admitted her top intimate experience came not in real life, but during a scene in a 1999 thriller.
Angelina Jolie once shocked fans by revealing that the “best sex” she ever had was in a movie with fellow Hollywood icon Denzel Washington.
While Jolie is currently only rumored to be dating—most recently linked to rapper Akala—she’s had a string of high-profile relationships and three marriages, including Jonny Lee Miller, Billy Bob Thornton, and Brad Pitt.
But none of her husbands took the number one spot when Jolie reflected on her sex life years ago. Instead, she credited her on-screen connection with Washington during their time filming the eerie 1999 crime thriller The Bone Collector.
Based on Jeffery Deaver’s novel, the movie stars Jolie as police officer Amelia Donaghy, tasked with tracking down a serial killer who leaves behind human bones at his crime scenes.
Her investigation leads her to work with Lincoln Rhyme, a quadriplegic forensic expert portrayed by Washington. Despite his character’s condition, their bond grows deeper as they hunt the killer—culminating in intimate on-screen moments that left a lasting impression on Jolie.
‘It was great seducing someone with your mind’
Shortly after the film’s release, Jolie discussed her chemistry with Washington in an interview with Dark Horizons.
“What’s fascinating are the journeys these two characters undertake, and the deep relationship that evolves between them,” she said.
She then surprised fans by confessing: “The best sex I ever had was in this movie.”
The scene she referred to wasn’t physical in the traditional sense—it centered around mental and emotional seduction rather than anything overtly sexual.
“It was great seducing someone with your mind, a huge turn-on,” Jolie explained at the time.
